Thanks osprey, they could be likely candidates for my 4xgreat grandparents.

Found lots of little bits about Clouters around Bristol, but nothing solid to piece together.

There's another James Clouter baptised in Bristol in 1826, parents Robert and Mary Ann, it appears he married Phoebe Luton in 1846 and later lived in Montgomeryshire. (I'm interested in the names James and Robert appearing again...)
There's a John and Mary Clouter living in Bristol in 1841 with children Eliza, Rebecca, John, Frederick and Matilda. (This is also of interest because my Sarah Clouter has a daughter Matilda, so it may be a family name)
Transcribing Essex records for FreeREG.
Current parishes - Burnham, Purleigh, Steeple.
Get in touch if you have any interest in these places!

Hi Clair
I am in Cardiff for a few days and I bought a Holy scripture in the market which was signed by Sarah Clouter in May 1876.
It has the history of The Cloutersite.
Mary Clouter of 1858 and her husband William King of 1851.
