Can you help with these Ocean arrivals references?!
« on: Friday 21 August 15 21:45 BST (UK) »
Ive just been sorting out some old notebooks and found this reference to Ocean arrivals 1919-24, but headed "Sask"  probably meaning the person was headed for Saskatchewan,  but ive no idea where i found these references. Probably relating to the surname BANKS.

Mikan (?) no 161349    Microform t-14591, page 2262
t-14851, page 99,  24 March 1928 SS Melita

Moral of the of the story is make proper notes with sources!! ;) :-[
If anyone knows what documents, probably found online,  these might refer to, please let me know!!   see attached copy of my notes!
Thankyou so much.
BANKS -North Yorks/Durham;  ORD - Durham;  WALKERLEY / HUGGINS / KING - Lincs;   CAVILL - Bristol;

Could it have come from Ancestry, they have "Canada, Ocean Arrivals (Form 30A), 1919-1924" ?

The t numbers are National Archives' microfilm numbers.

The Melita arrived on 26 March 1928, not the 24th. It had sailed out of Antwerp, Southampton and Cobh, bound for Saint John, New Brunswick.

On the Melita, there is a Richard Banks age 46 (dob approx 1882, Dover) with wife Victoria (1898, London) and daughter (1926 Portsmouth) and son (2 months).  Sailing from Southampton bound for Grand Forks BC.  Contact UK address 4 Queen St. Lane, Queen St., Dover.
