He  went with them to Canada and I'm also looking info on  Agnes Downie Thomson Birth 15 Oct 1908 in Dunbar

AAh so we have the correct family then, that was a stroke of luck.    Details above on the find a grave entry for Agnes Downie Thomson - presume she stayed unmarried.

Noticed an entry British Army WW1 Service Record.

Archibald Thomson born 1881 - residence place Whiteford Ecclefecham, Dumfriesshire. Regiment Name Royal Light Infantry.  Its lists Archibald (was a small holder) - Janet Thomson, Christopher John Thomson, Agnes Downie Thomson, Mary Latmer (probably means Latimer) Thomson, Walter Thomson, Annie MacDonald Thomson and Margaret Thomson. 

Archibald married Janet Thomson (spinster) Gilmartin, Whiteford, Ecclefechan Scotland on 30 March 1906 -
