Kezia, Mary and father John may well have died of Typhus, 1846 saw 500,00 - 1 million people die of it

Thanks, Claire. He was born in 1834 so it probably is him.

It was John Roome who had the misfortune to watch first his grandson, then his wife and finally two daughters die before finally departing himself. Poor man must have thought he was cursed.

And thanks, Claire, again for that link. I'd actually just been looking into whether there might have been a cholera outbreak at the time but typhus it probably is. I'm still going to order a death certificate though to see if I can confirm it.
