John Bird - 1806 Hinckley Leicestershire
« on: Tuesday 25 August 15 21:18 BST (UK) »
Good evening all,
I've found the answer to the other question, thank you but can anyone find John's parents/birth/baptism. Also I need the birth/baptism of Ann Wagstaff 1804 Hinckley Leicestershire. Information is proving difficult to find.Tried Family Search and Ancestry but no luck. John and Ann got married 23 December 1827.
Many thanks
Maggie

A THOMAS Bird married same Church as John/Ann 9 April 1822 to Mary Barnfield (FreeREG)
May be a possible Brother of John.
It may be worth finding them on Census to see where/when Thomas was born.

I notice in 1861 Census a JOB Wagstaff, 1793 Hinkley is down as Anns Brother.

FreeREG has a JOB Wagstaff Burial 1 May 1822 St Mary, Hinckley age 67
Possible Father for Job/Ann?
Also a ANNE Wagstaff same Church 12 Feb 1844 age 90  (birth c 1754)

1851 Job says he is born Bedworth, Warwickshire (living with Ann Bird and Family)

1841 in Hinkley we have;
Job Wagstaff, 40, Fishmonger
Ann Wagstaff, 86, Silk Winder, NOT born in County
Mary Bord, 7, Seamer (should this be Bird?)

Next door is John/Ann Bird and Family

ANN Wagstaff was a witness to the Marriage of DANIEL Wagstaff 1820 (FreeREG)
He is of Nuneaton, Warwickshire, on the record
There is a JAMES Wagstaff Marriage 1812 same Church also
(FreeREG)

Worth following them on Census also.

Job WAGSTAFF, Widower, married Ann HOWLETTE, Widowed*, 3 Oct 1792, All Saints, Bedworth, Warwickshire
(FreeREG)

Ann HEYWOOD married Henry HOWLETTE, 18 Nov 1777 same Church
(FreeREG)

Trish :)

Thank you so much,Trish. The 1841 census I have for John Bird has him living with "Mary" 1811 same family, and that was Ancestry. 1851 Ann is on her own 1861 John is back with family. I'll check out FreeReg and see what else I can find.
What site did you use for the censuses?
Thanks again for taking the time to search for me.
Maggie

Your welcome Maggie.
I use Ancestry.

Oops I made a mistake, 1841 next door to John Wagstaff etc is John/Mary Bird and Family (under Baird)
