Is the arch on the right side some sort of ruin pre-dating the house?

I can find lots of images of similar looking houses but none of them have that square turret with the pinnacle on the top.  Also, is the part with the greenhouse attached the same property?  Or is it just set back a bit?

I don't think that's a greenhouse attached to the house. It's far more likely to be a conservatory leading out from say the drawingroom or something.

Apologies for not getting back to this thread sooner - have been tussling with Windows 10 updating on our very slow rural broadband  :'(

I can do some rescans - one of the green house/conservatory/orangery, and one of the ruined archway - are there any others that people would like?

I keep coming back to look at this house, it may help if you could make the balustrade area a bit clearer, is there a bridge or is it ruins to go with the arch?
One unusual thing, the windows in the highest gable are not symmetrical it looks as though one has been added later, out of line!
There are further chimneys showing over the roof line so I think this could be a lot bigger than it looks.

I think the window sizes just reflect the height of the rooms. There's a house on the Clyde near New Lanark which has an arch like this which opens onto a bridge over the river with a lodge on the other side to keep the riff-raff out!.
