FreeBMD has 9 Nelson births in Cockermouth RD, all with a Mother's maiden name of Mitchell, from 1912 to 1930. Mother's maiden name was only added to the indexes from 1st July 1911.

Thank you for the reply, I have already tried following Benjamin Lloyd Nelson and Jane Mitchell as possible parents but not the right family.

What was it that ruled them out?

There seems to be relevant Nelsons living with some Andersons in latest census!

I followed the family in Cockermouth, Benjamin and Jane as possible parents, but I realise now that family in Workington is more likely the right line.
