What happened to Herbert George Thomas?
« on: Wednesday 02 September 15 17:55 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

I am trying to find out information about my great-uncle Herbert George Thomas, possibly known as Bert, who I can find no record of after 1947.

He was born in Cardiff on the 27th April 1896 and my last record of him is as the informant to his mother's death in June 1947. He is living with his mother at the family home in 11 Acfold Road, Fulham SW6. And he was a Civil Servant.

Family members believe that he was unmarried and probably homosexual but sadly he was not really talked about. Both his sisters' families moved to the Glastonbury area of Somerset so he may have moved there too or possibly have moved in with a man but this is all speculation!

I have looked at passenger records in case he traveled abroad and also marriage indexes if he did end up marrying but I have found no-one that fits. I have purchased a couple of deaths certificates that I thought could possibly be him but I have since disproved. Now I am out of ideas!

Any thoughts?

I know this is a vague post - sorry

Patrick
