Sophie and Emma Chappell
« on: Thursday 03 September 15 17:02 BST (UK) »
Susannah and Emma who are my half cousins. Mother Margaret Turner, father George? Chappell who married in 1901 in Co Durham.
Margaret was the d/o my grandfather James Turner
Family information is that the couple moved to Heckmondwyke and there also a connection to a pub!
I believe Susannah married Joseph Wedgewood and Emma to Alfred Kearns. Marriage Registration district was Spen valley.
Thank you in advance.
Waffle from WKS.

Before we start posting any info, can you confirm a) that these girls are now deceased and b) if it is Sophie (as per title) or Susannah (as per text) you are interested in?

The marriages you mention can be found in the index.

What exactly were you wanting help with?
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

Sorry-the subject line should read be Susannah (not Sophie) and Emma Chappell.
I recently discovered that my grandfather had a marriage prior to that with my grandmother.
My information about this marriage has been from loose family notes and then research. I would like to know about the descendants of the sisters. Susannah was born in 1917 and Emma in 1919.

Descendants of the sisters will likely still be alive, so we will not be able to post any details on Rootschat, as there is a strict no living people policy.

You can check birth indexes for possible children of the marriages, as mothers maiden name is shown in the indexes from 1911.
Or if you find the deaths of the girls you could look to see if they (or their husbands when they died) left Wills mentioning any children they had.

I cant see any entry on him on tbe CWG site

To find out more about him, you will need to get the marriage cert. Hopefully that will give an age, occupation, addrsss at marriage, fathers name and occupation.

If it is your Emma Chappell who married Alfred V Kearns, then there are 2 sons to the marriage, and the sons and Alfred appear in a tree on genes belonging to a lady with the surname Kearns.
Worth trying to make contact?
