Because the John I am looking for was born in Little Hoole Lancashire. It was the cooper aspect that got me wanting to look at this John. Right age right job and John for a Father. Alas from Cheshire

although it has been Cheshire since 1974 - Warrington was before that date in Lancashire
eg - your Isabella Ellis baptism is on Lancashire Online Parishes site

Baptism: 9 Sep 1832 St Elphin, Warrington, Lancashire, England
Isabella Ellis - Daur of John Ellis & Mary
    Abode: Buttermarket
    Occupation: Engineer
    Baptised by: Horace Powys

you can find this on
http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/Search/indexp.html
this site also has John Hampson baptism

Baptism: 3 Aug 1835 St Michael, Hoole, Lancashire, England
John Hampson - Son of John Hampson & Margaret
    Abode: Little Hoole
    Occupation: Farmer
    Baptised by: Miles Barton Rector

Now down to James bapt 9 Feb 1827 Little Hoole. Last seen at home as a journeyman baker.
1851 James is living in Liverpool so is this him in 1861?

If it is James then there is a marriage 1853 for James Hampson, Baker and Mary Ann Coombs
Only stumbling block, father John is a labourer. ???
Have a look see what you think.

You beauti ;) Often "farmer" was a fancy way of saying Agricultural Labour.  The only Hampson activity at Hoole showing up is this family. As you say in 1851 they had moved to Liverpool

Looks like they baptised John William 30 March 1856. Using both Grandfather's names.
Then buried him 7 March 1860 but in ??Radcliffe? ?
