Will of James Craig Senior, died 1900
« on: Monday 07 September 15 11:34 BST (UK) »
I am trying to ascertain whether my g. grandfather James Anderson was coachman to James Craig Senior, father of James Craig (Lord Belmont), who lived in Craigavon House, off the Holywood Road.  James Anderson was a coachman in the Strandtown area until the late 1890s and suddenly owned three houses in Ravenhill by 1901.  I just wondered if he had been left money by an erstwhile employer.

Those are not beneficaries listed- merely names taken from the Will Extract for executors. If you click on 'image' you can seen the executors listed. It's only by reading the actual Will or Letters of Administration you can tell how an estate waas to be divided.

They are just where a James Anderson was a Name of Executor/Beneficiary. You might find one as a Beneficiary plus who he benefited from...

I didn't put a County in, as these go by where person died...

It is highly unlikely that James Craig would have chosen to make his coachman one of the executors of his Will although he certainly could have left various bequests to his servants.

Rosemary- have you checked to see if there is a Will listed in PRONI's extracts for Mr. Craig?
