McHolm family Dumfries
« on: Friday 11 September 15 13:14 BST (UK) »
Hi, I'm trying to establish whether both David McHolm born 1874 and James McHolm born 1879 emigrated, as I'm having difficulty locating them after 1891 Scotland census. I have reason to believe that David married Margaret Ross and had a son William in 1891. There is a strong link in various generations of that family emigrating to Canada. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it, thank you.

Yes thought that was George checked to see if there was any mention of family in the probate record for George but no luck ..
Ithink the record you are referring to with David McHolm marrying a Margaret Ross is a different David ..
A David McHolm married a Margaret Ross 1888 Dumfries your David would only have been 14 years of age ..
This is probably the same couple in the 1891 census at Neatherwood Park Lodge Dumfries
David McHolm age 35 gardener
Margaret age 33
Agnes age 2
William age 3months
