Hi again Heywood,
Just to let you know the Blackpool search wasn't completed but thought it best to leave it.
On your advice I took my research a step further and looked up Patrick's death on Lancashire BMD and that is recorded in Blackpool South too, so it can't be far from the Layton cemetery.
I am still none the wiser what/where these boundaries or districts are, and as the priest explained several of the churches in the area now, where not open in the 1920's, He thought St Cuthberts & St Kents the best bet. but that seems another problem that Mr Google doesn't answer for me.
Thanx again for your time
Cheers Bernice

Try Lancashire Record Office. Their page for Church Registers is at:
http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/libraries-and-archives/archives-and-record-office/search-the-archives/church-registers-guide.aspx

Scroll down for Catholic church registers.
Selecting "B" (for Blackpool) will download a PDF document, in which you can page down for Blackpool entries.

Lancashire Record Office has Sacred Heart christenings up to 1921, but don't appear to hold anything for the other Catholic parishes in Blackpool.
What you will find are the Presbytery addresses where you need to write to, for each church.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Hi Bernice,
I replied on your thread re Blackpool. If you look up St Cuthbert's parish, there is an email in the contact section. You could try that.
It is difficult with the various areas - to us,  Blackpool is Blackpool  ;)
