Pelham Davies & Hester Garrett

Hello

can someone help me - I am really stuck on this one!  :)

I know that my great great great grandfather was Pelham Davies ( worked out from census as born circa 1791) who married Hester Garrett ( worked out from census as born circa 1800) around about 1839. I believe their marriage was in the Oct/Nov/Dec quarter Vol 26 Page 1023. Can anyone find out any more info as I am struggling - I am hoping for place of marriage/possible parents names. I believe Hester was born Lawrenny area and they lived Penally area at some point.

Unless you can find the marriage on (C of E) Parish Records, the only way to see the details is to buy the Marriage Certificate!

It's only £9.35 from GRO

FreeBMD shows the marriage in the Pembroke Registration District, and there were 30 parishes in that district in 1839.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

The burial record below and the 1841/1861 census suggests Hester was born a little later than 1800, however I cannot find a birth record for either in Pembrokeshire.

PELHAM    DAVIES    1791    Burial, age 69   26 Dec 1860    St Michael, Pembrokeshire

HESTER DAVIES   1807    Burial, age 88          26 Feb 1895    St Thomas, Pembrokeshire

The only reference I can find to Pelham is below.

Baptism 18 Sep1768   TENBY
Father Daniel   Mother J Lucy

The parish records for most of Wales, including Pembroke are on FindMyPast.
I have checked for Pelham and Hester, without success.

Thanks to all for your help - much appreciated. As you  say, purchasing the marriage certificate will give me the definitive answer! It is odd however that I cannot either of them on census prior to their wedding? Oh well...will have to continue searching with more 'wild cards'!

1841 was the first census. Colin
