Researching Walter Freer - Glasgow area
« on: Saturday 19 September 15 19:36 BST (UK) »
Greetings fellow "root diggers."  I'm looking for some help from anyone who may have knowledge of Walter Freer's family.  He lived in the Glasgow area from about 1846 - 1930.  He was the Manager of Corporation Halls and Music Recitals in Glasgow.  A fair amount is written on him, but I'm looking for info on his children:

Walter - June 1867
Edward - August 1868
Jessie - 1871
Margaret - 1874
James - 1876
Robert - 1880
Thomas - 1880
John - 1889

Any leads would be appreciated.

Thanks

This should be easy as it is not that common of a name.

You should find them all of them quite easily at Scotlands People http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk it is a pay per view.

I picked his son Walter marriage and this one appears - I peaked and it is his son.

1897 FREER WALTER DEVLIN ANNIE MCGILVARY BLACKFRIARS GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/05 0287

I have turned off all email notifications, thank you.

Thanks for for the lead Don.  I've been using Ancestry.ca.

I'll follow your suggestion up.  In reading the message strings, it amazes me how often distant relatives meet in these forums and fill in the missing gaps in family history.

Cheers!

Hi Ev,

Thanks for the welcome.

I believe Walter Freer was married to Jessie Kay McDonald.   I don't see her in the results.  Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong spot.  I like the indexing source you are using.  I'll try tinkering with it.  Thanks for the suggestion.

... Read your post and found the indexed IGI file....  They are there.  Thx!
