I can't help you with the christening but you can download the 1902 birth registration of James Wilson Webster from http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/  It looks like it was registered in the St Mary District, Angus.
The only suitable marriage between James Webster and Mary Speed is in 1919 in St Clement District, Angus. Downloading this registration should give you both sets of parents.

Thanks monica & ev, I appreciate your help....James father was William Clarke Webster, and his mother Elizabeth  ??  , would you have any info re their marriage or christenings, maybe Dundee or Glasgow, if not Angus.and where would I look for William Clarke Webster,s war records from WW1.He was a sgt.in Prince Alberts llth hussar Reg. no. 4773 altered to 46555 ...Thanks   Rob

If you download the birth registration for James Wilson Webster it should have when and where his parents married as well as mothers maiden name. As Monica said virtually no Christenings, except Catholic, are online after 1854 but you can download the Statutory Registration entries from Scotlandspeople. It is a pay-per-view site but compared to other countries it is not expensive. http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ is the Scottish Governments website.

Not sure if you have a subscription to a/try, but there is family tree there for a George, son to William Clark Webster and Elizabeth Smith. George looks to have been born c. 1906 in Dundee and left Scotland for NSW c. 1922. Married and died there.

This familiy tree includes details on George's mother, Elizabeth Smith, born in Dundee c. 1881 and died in NSW in 1945. Parents a John Smíth and a Jean Shaw as given. Elizabeth Smith's marriage to William Clark Webster looks to have been in 1901 Dundee. You should be able to check and view this image on SP.

There is also an Elizabeth Smith Webster(b. c1880) and a William Clark Webster(b. c1883) going to Sydney NSW in 1922.
