RAF record, and I am lost.

I have no idea what these numbers/letters and names mean [ Apart from Fovant maybe].
Any help I would be grateful for.

Joyce Green aerodrome situated at Long Reach on the Dartford Marshes opened in 1911.

At the outbreak of the First World War two FB5 Gunbases were sited at the aerodrome to defend London from aerial attack. Later in 1914 a permanent Royal Flying Corp unit was housed at the base responsible for training pilots. To support the newly created Flying Corp; hangers, workshops and staff quarters were built at the northern end of airfield.

Following the armistice the aerodrome was closed in 1919.

Fovant in Wiltshire was the RFC, the the RAF, flight training centre.

If I am correct he transferred from RD to STHC on 21-7-18
from STHC to Joyce Green  on 19-10-18 and from Joyce Green to Fovant [  ] on 3-2-19.

It is hard to pin down but I think RD is Recruiting Depot and STHC is Special Transit Holding Camp. I cannot see that as Special Training etc.

I was once briefly 2 i/c of a military Special Transit Camp after the Suez campaign. Prior to that it was called No.1 Reinforcement Holding Unit. It then became No.1 Special Transit Camp.

Recruiting depot sounds right, he would have been seventeen and a half at that date.
