Hi
You could search for John Cox b 1848 Arutham on the 1911 ;), widower, correct family I think but no John b 1900.

As you know the family were at 39, King Street, Southampton in 1901
John   Cox   Head   Married   52   1849   Eartham, Sussex, England
Mary   Cox   Wife   Married   36   1865   Upham, Hampshire, England
Harriet   Cox   Daughter   -   8   1893   Southampton, Hampshire, England
Annie   Cox   Daughter   -   7   1894   Southampton, Hampshire, England
Florence   Cox   Daughter   -   3   1898   Southampton, Hampshire, England
John   Cox   Son   -   1   1900   Southampton, Hampshire, England

By 1911 John senior was a widower, Harriet & Annie were with him plus Sidney born 1905.
Florence is at school in Kingston on Thames, Surrey

No sign of John junior on census or death the only likely marriage Southampton is:

JOHN COX married DOLLY M MANNING 1929

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Hi,

If the Henry John COX found by nanny jan is the correct one then I think Henry J COX born 1899 in Southampton might be found at Purbrook Industrial School, in Cosham. Then it looks like he joined the Navy,

http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D6933516

This could be his death as the DOB matches,

Henry John COX    Dec 1985    Beverley    7  144
Birth Date:  11 May 1899

Daisy
