There is a John Horton marrying Ellen Thorpe in 1838 at Royston - he names his father as John Forster.  I would think he and probably Joseph are children of Hannah and her previous husband.

Great find.  They are in Joseph St, Barnsley in 1841:

John Horton 27 Mason
Ellen do 26
James do 2
Ann do 6mo
Richard Thorpe 19 Stone mason

all born in county.

In 1851, John & Ellen Horton plus James 12, Ann 10 and John 1 are in Oxford Square, Barnsley.

John senior is 36 b Emley.

Maybe she found out who her real father was and used his name.
But she was a widow when marrying John Foster. Wonder if she married a Graham?

She 'said' she was a widow when marrying John Foster but it was not unusual for single women with illegitimate children to state they were widowed when marrying.
