Norfolk Record Office.
The Spilman family for generations left wills that are now at the NRO the following are a few of many:
Judith Spilman, widow 1708-1709, ref ANW 23/8/92
Samuel Spilman, 1703, ref ANW 1703-1704 fo. 87
Samuel Spilman 1718 ref ANW 1717-1718 fo. 137
Jane Spilman 1739, ref ANW fo.177, 1739 No 51
Wales Spilman 1770-1771, ref 1770 fo 76 no. 57
The family was well regarded as they are also mentioned as being executors of wills for other parties.
The fee for copies is reasonable

Capt.
You have been busy. Wales marrying in Kings lynn makes sense as a number of their children were baptised there. The marriage of Samuel to Jane Wales (well done) explains his name. I found Samuel Samuel Spilman married Elizabeth Warren 11 Dec 1716 Lowestoft as a possible.... the date and names are good.
I have downloaded one or two Wills for people in the past but have had great difficulty deciphering them, so I tend to keep clear.

Thanks again for all your help. Just like a jigsaw; the pieces are falling into place.

I found one other thing....The father of  Ann Spelman who married Charles Pepys was John Spelman of Narborough. So I guess no connection to the above

Bob

Thank you Bob... but a big thanks has to also go to Amondg (he/she found the marriage - not me  :) I just had the feeling there had to be a Wales/Whales in there somewhere as it is an unusual name and bingo amondg found it.. well done.   It looks like the family were quite established in the area so there may well be lots more to find ...

Hi
Died. On the 30th June 1835 at Impington House, in this county, at an advanced age, Mrs Anne Spelman. (extract from Cambridge Chronicle.)

Can anyone see if she was related to Wales and Elizabeth Spilman?

note.
Charlotte Knight, daughter of Samuel Knight and Elizabeth Spelman(1761), of Milton, married Charles Pine Coffin who had inherited Impington Hall from his Aunt, Anne Pepys, nee Spelman. (not related to Elizabeth)
