I see on deceasedonline there is a Rebecca Watt Smith buried at Newmonthill Cemetery in Forfar in the 1870s. I wonder if this would lead to more info on Robert?
Most of my family tree covers the Highlands of Scotland, London, Hertfordshire and the Midlands of England. I work as a researcher in a military archive.

Thanks for the info on Rebecca at Newmonthill. According to "deceased online" Robert Smith who died on 27 Aug. 1874 (GROS: Statutory Death 288/00 0159) was buried in Grave Ref A/250/1 at Newmonthill on 31 Aug. 1874.
