Such a pity Hannah Armstrong died 1854 before the statutory records  ??? I can't see her in the 1841 census but Valentine Armstrong shows up in them ..Did you follow up on any of the deaths for Mary Miller ?

rosie17....I know ...such a lot of info also on the Scottish Deaths. For example my gtgtaunt Elizabeth Duff nee Houston had her 2 husbands listed on her death reg in 1881 Jan I think it was! Yes, I do have the Marriage Reg Cert for my gtgrandparents Isabella and John. They returned to Ireland by 1876. I was hoping that Mary Miller would have given me the names of her parents and often the person present at death would be a relative. Just have no credits left. At the time I didnt know what/which  the Registration Districts were valid and would have saved me lots of credits. I find it interesting that Candleriggs was an address for some time for that.

Not seeing much more on this family  Hannah Miller must have arrived in Glasgow after the 1841 census her marriage 17/10/1847 Glasgow ..The only other thing you can do is post a request for a look up for a death for Mary Miller if some kind person is going to Edinburgh or the Mitchell Library

Findmypast shows Mary Miller as unmarried in both the 1861 and 1871 census entries you have listed.

thanks again rosie17 and isobelw........in a ca 1859/60 Glasgow Poorlaw application re: Mary Miller as a suitable person for the care of my orphaned gtgran and her brother William it was stated that Mary Miller had a stepdaughter in America who helped her out. That was the first I'd heard of that.
