Thanks for the lookups, everyone.
This is for a possible 3rd cousin, and I am trying to establish how we are related. I will ask for more details, but that is all I have for now.

Ellen Wylie might be also known as Elizabeth Wylie. Possibly her middle name was Elizabeth.

Hello, all.
I am the great granddaughter of Ellen Wylie Lyttle, and granddaughter of Mary Elizabeth Lyttle.
Mary Elizabeth was born in February 1898. Her mother, Ellen Wylie, died from complications of that birth within less than two weeks (10 days seems to stick in my mind). So, Ellen Wylie was dead already three years at the time of the first searchable census of 1901.
I have no idea how old her father might have been at that time and whether or not he remarried, and possibly having more children.
I'm new to this site, and appreciate any help, advice, or direction you might share.
Thank you.

Welcome LizzieBet

Your grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Hester LYTTLE, was born on February 10 1898
Civil Birth states (F) James LYTTLE, a Fireman (M) Elizabeth WYLIE
Address 18 Dorchester Street, Belfast

She was baptised on Mar 02 1898 in St. Aidan's CoI
Record states (F) James LYTTLE, Engine Driver (M) Elizabeth WYLIE
Address 18 Dorchester Street, Belfast

James LYTTLE, a fireman from Belfast; aged 22; father James LYTTLE, a packer
Married Apr 26 1897 in Brackaville CoI, Dungannon, Co. Tyrone
Lizzie WYLIE, from Roughan Park; aged 22; father John WYLIE, a gardener

This is probably James LYTTLE on the 1901 census; noting sister named Susan
This was the name of a witness at his wedding; also Hester was one of his daughter's middle names

There is a marriage in 1907 for a James LYTTLE in Belfast
He is an Engine Driver and his father's name was James LYTTLE, a weighman
He is however shown as a bachelor?
He married Sarah McKENNA
and is on the 1911 census here

This is Mary on the 1911 census
at the minute she is eluding me in 1901!
and with her extended LYTTLE family in 1901

edited to add
FYI
There are several births/baptisms for the children of James LYTTLE and Mary MILLER/MILLAR
from Limehill from 1869 to the late 1880s
they are all shown as first name unknown, but many of match the names shown on the census

This marriage found by dathai would then tie in as she would have been 22
A Robert Lynam married Mary Lyttle in Monaghan 9th June 1920

Thank you so much!

This gives me something to sink my teeth into, at last!

I'm tentatively planning a trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland for next summer, and hoping to make some headway, before I go. This is a huge help.

I am going to post in the Scotland forum, since the name Lyttle is also found there.
