Hello,
My grandmother's name was Janet and, although she signed any official papers with her full name, she was known as Netta or Net to family & friends. Just wondered if that might be why Janet Bell signed her name with the initial N.
               Regards,     Dod.

I was also going to post that Janet could be shortened to Netta or Nettie and I've even heard it shortened to Nessie!

Hi Don, there is a tree on Ancestry for Janet Johnston Bell and John Shields Irvine.  Can contact the owner and notify them of the Registration card if this would be of help.

Hi Andrea,

You can carry on and tell the tree owner, no problem. If that is the correct family, come back and tell us, and I will advise the "Lost Glasgow" website on FB.
