Help needed to connect mother and daughter
« on: Sunday 18 October 15 16:48 BST (UK) »
1871 Hannah Lloyd (62)
        Reuben Lloyd (18)
        Alice Lloyd (15)
        Maria Adlington (82) mother

born Dudley Worcestershire
living Dudley Worcestershire

7 September 1828 St Thomas Dudley marriage of James Lloyd and Hannah Nicholls

Can anyone connect Hannah to Maria Adlington? Previous census Mary Adlington with husband Joseph Adlington? Is there a Mary Nicholls marriage to Joseph Adlington? Thanks in advance.

1841 shows first child Noah aged 9.  1861 shows dtr Alice aged 4 (1857)

Have you assumed the 1828 marriage is the right one as it fits the county or have you confirmed Hannah's maiden name was Nicholls by buying a copy of one of their childrens birth certs?

1828 marriage and still having children 29yrs later ??

I've just ordered son Samuel Lloyd's birth certificate as he is my direct ancestor.

So...the birth certificate arrived today and Hannah's maiden name is ...Hickmans (just to add another name in the mix) 😕

Just found a marriage for James Lloyd and Hannah Hickmans 1831 Staffordshire.

Now I just need to connect Maria Adlington....looks like Maria could have married an Adlington after a Hickmans....going to check.

John Knowles Hickmans and Maria Hodgetts married 1810 Staffordshire.

John Knowles Hickmans burial 1815.

Not necessarily.  She could have married somebody else then been widowed again before she married Adlington
