Hello again,
The details for the next certificate are as follows,

Mary Nicol , married to William Nicol a ploughman

1867 May twenty (someting)
W.Balads (?)

60 years

James Ballingall, Labourer, deceased

Mary Ballingall M.S Mclaren deceased

William Nicol , son

Registered Kinross.

Also on the marriage certificate for Robert Haggart and Margaret Nicol one of the witnesses was a Maggie Mclaren. Could this possibly be the grandmother?

Molly

Molly,

Can you post a couple of the images where you have ? please for us to decipher.

W Balads? may mean Wester Balgedie?

Re witness Maggie McLaren, may well be her mother but know one will/would really know for sure. Quite unusual to have mother as witness although may well be but could also be a cousin or other relative so it would just be an assumption really.

No a Maggie Mclaren was one of the witnesses to the marriage between Robert Haggart and Margaret Nicol so it would've been her grandmother if it's all correct. I'll try and upload some pictures but I'm not sure how to do it  :)

On the marriage cert for Robert Haggart and Margaret Nicol, Roberts 'usual residence' is also shown as 'w. Balads'

It may be but no real proof, just seems not the norm?

I think it's W.Balado not W.Balads. What would you like a photo of?
