minnie kite
« on: Wednesday 21 October 15 01:04 BST (UK) »
Hi,

does anyone have any information about Minnie kite nee larcombe born 1886 in beaminster to Charles and Emily larcombe.  Minnie married Gabriel kite around 1902 at the age of 16.  Can find her on 1911 census with Gabriel and children.  Gabriel died in 1915 and I can't find a re marriage or death that fits Minnie's age.  any information would be wonderful.

thank you.

Hi I believe that Minnie was already in Sheppey, births 1916 onwards suggest Hodges/Kite in Sheppey.

What is interesting is that on the WW1 soldier effects register, which usually lists the name of the deceased's wife, mother, father, brother  etc. as the benificiary, in this case  it just lists the living children of Gabriel and equal shares via an overseas bank to John, Gabriel and George.  No mention at all of Minnie.  Had she left him or died??

thank you for the soldier effects info. I don't know if she left him but it is certainly another avenue to go down.

Could she have reverted to her maiden name?

There is a death of a Minnie Larcombe Sep 1950 Pontpridd Vol 8b p519 age 64.

I suggest this because there is a death in the registration district fifteen years earlier of a Gabriel Kite Mar 1945 Ponypridd Vol 11a p615 age 36

Yes I thought the same thing about her reverting to her maiden name.  I have seen the death of Minnie Larcombe in Pontypridd and the death of Gabriel in 1945 who I believe was her son.  I will most likely order the Minnie Larcombe death certificate but was just trying to narrow it down before I spent the money.  thank you very much for your reply.
