Court Assizes c1788
« on: Thursday 22 October 15 07:41 BST (UK) »
I have Edward Fisher poss born 1751-53 convicted in Oxford Assizes in 1788.

Visiting the area in Nov 2015 where is the best place to see these records. Records in Australia say he came from Sedgley. Any help would be good.

Local newspapers available anywhere??? I have the link for the Sedgely Council archives/local history people already.

The newspaper archive is at the Oxfordshire History Centre at St. Luke's Church, Cowley (about 3 miles south of Oxford).  More details here:

Hope you have a productive visit to the UK!

Sedgley - my road atlas of Britain shows me it is north west of Dudley, close by Tipton with Wolverhampton to the north.
