According to the 1861 census, the 2 youngest daughters, Elizabeth born abt 1848 - and Rose born about 1851 (although there is a transcribed baptism on Ancestry showing her baptism to be August 1849) ---- were both born in Liverpool.

(The transcribed baptism on Ancestry showing 1849 for Rose gives the parents as Philip and Isabella. I suppose it is possible that this Rose died and a second Rose was born 1850/1851.)

However, as both Elizabeth and Rose were supposedly born in Liverpool, the family should be on the 1851 census - but I haven't found them yet.

Do you have their birth certificates please (Elizabeth or Rose) - or one of them? That would at least give you Isabella's maiden name, bearing in mind that we don't know if she is the mother to ALL of the children, as there may have been a second marriage.

Anything helps when you are struggling to find information!

Looks like Philip Burns died Q/E December 1868, West Derby Registration District (which is a Liverpool area) - birth year approx 1813.

Isabella Burns may have died Q/E Sep 1866, Liverpool - birth year approx 1814.

His name appears on a polling list in the Liverpool Mercury in July 1853 living at the same address as that in the 1861 census

Also living with Elizabeth and Rose on the 1871 census is sister Mary Ann a 25 year old widow and her two daughters Isabella and Amanda. Surname transcribed as Samond on Ancestry but Lamont on another programme.

There is a marriage at St James Bootle for a Gilman Stocbridge Lemont and Mary Burns Apr 1862 West Derby

Gilbert S Lemont is mentioned on the US Find a Grave index, he died in 1866 but it doesn't say where he is buried.
