Looking for Martha MCCARTNEY
« on: Saturday 07 November 15 08:25 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm looking for Martha McCartney, born Toxteth, Liverpool abt 1909 to John Arthur McCartney and Jane (unknown surname). She had one brother also John and a sister Mary Ellen. My mum says she emigrated to Australia but not sure when. I can't see a marriage so not sure if she married before moving. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Elaine

The first marriage in Lancashire for that name was in 1940 with others later but the most likely record from what you have said is a Miss M McCartney a machinist born 1909, sailed from London to Melbourne 16 Jan 1950 on the ORONTES.
