If this is indeed the correct Keir, family, then it looks very much that older Daniel Keir, born Balfron Stirling, parents were James Keir, Tailor, who married a Catherine Mcintyre, 8 Nov. 1833. Balfron Stirling.

This couple had a son correct age, alas some of his sibling birth are registered but not Daniel.

The family can be found on free cen 1841. 1851.
