Births in Llannon
« on: Saturday 14 November 15 05:14 GMT (UK) »
I can't find birth records for the early children of Henry and Mary Jones all born in Llannon according to census returns
David 1827, Mary 1830, John 1832, Ann 1833/4, William 1837
The later children are all recorded:-
Daniel 1840, Eleazer 1842  Thomas 1845, and Elizabeth 1851.
there must be a reason for this - availability of parish records?
Any ideas on how I can get hold of these?

the baptisms available on FindMyPast appear to have a gap between 1813 & 30 March 1851. There are transcriptions available on FreeReg for Bethania, but not for the parish church.

The original records & surviving BTs are at the NLW in Aberystwyth. The BTs have been filmed for FamilySearch. There are copies of the registers at Carmarthenshire Archives, but that has been closed for a while

Thanks Osprey.
Does that mean I would be able to view the missing Parish records if I went to the NLW?
I am planning a visit to the UK and Wales (from NZ) next summer and would be able to fit this in.

yes, they have copies there on microfilm. You need to get a reader's ticket, but you can arrange that before you go to save time.
