Elizabeth (Brydon) Absalom (1839-1911)

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help. Elizabeth Brydon (b 1839 Newcastle) married John Absalom (b 1834) in 1858 at All Saints, Newcastle (7 November). Their only child, a son, Robert Brydon Absalom was born 1859.

In 1861 Census I have found John as a Lodger in Glebe Row, Bedlington. But where were his wife and son in 1861? Or her father Robert Brydon, a witness at the wedding? Later Census entries show Elizabeth and Robert with her parents.

I do hope that someone can find them for me in 1861. Thank you.

Does John the lodger state that he is married in 1861?  I wonder if they had parted ways especially if wife and child are with her parents later on. 

Is she under her married name on later census?

Nope sorry I can't find any of her family or her and son in 1861 

Hopefully someone else will have better luck.

Please bear in mind that there are some pieces missing from the 1861, including some in Northumberland.

So if the people you are looking for happened to be living in one of the 'missing' areas in 1861 I'm afraid you will search in vain

Thank you for your help. In 1861 Census John, a Lodger, shows he is married.

One of those things I guess. But Elizabeth and son do appear in 1871 census etc. although she uses maiden name, until 1901 when she uses married name, and is a widow. It isn't as though they disappeared altogether. Regards.
