We know from the marriage entry for William and Grizell, that he is a Shoemaker.  :)

William who married Mary Sargant, was married by Licence.  Hopefully the bond and allegation have survived and will be held at Lichfield Record Office.  I'm sure that the bonds have been indexed so it might be an idea to contact Lichfield to see whether it has survived - 01543 510720.  If it has, then it is usual that an occupation and age are indicated.  Worth a try  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Yes, I mean Lichfield Record Office, as they hold the Diocesan records, including pre-1858 wills and the bonds and allegations for licence marriages.

If you go to their website, http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/leisure/archives/contact/LichfieldRecordOffice/home.aspx then you will see that they also have an e-mail address, and very helpful staff  :) :)

Ive had a very nice email communication with the Records office who have pointed me to Find My Past which I have used , focusing on the Lichfield Records . I can see the licence for Greezell and William but its difficult to translate and I cant see any obvious words around occupation . Mmmmmm

I think the allegation - the totally "scrawly" hand-written page says that William is a Yeoman - 4th word of the third line.  Perhaps if you do a small snip of those three lines onto the "Deciphering Board" they may be able to confirm it for you.  I hope I'm right.

And I've now learned that they are available on FindMyPast, which I hadn't realised.  :)
