Why are you only looking in those 2 years?

Mary Ellen was born August 1872 - so conceived approx late Oct/Nov 1871

Father deceased by August 1872 as per birth cert so presumably died between conception and birth

Oh duh lol.  :P

Parents married 13.11.1864 St Nicholas - John is shown as a fireman on the marriage cert.  Father Henry Parry labourer.  Sarah's father was John Davies - labourer

Are they on the 1871 census to check John's birthyear against the 1872 death reg?

Hi Carole,

Thanks for that information. I haven't yet been able to check the 1871 census.

St Nicholas is the Parish Church of Liverpool and was near the Pierhead

The 1871 address is hard to decipher and looks like Liverpool Bank.  It was in Toxteth
