google "google books a narrative of the separation of the majority of members 1747"

You can search the book for "beugo" (seems to have been a falling out?)

Rosinish,
All very tantalising!

"Decisions of the Court of Sessions, from the end of the year 156 to the end of the year 1760"
Collected by John Cambell, Junior 1765 ......

On 27 June 1757 "Gavin Bugoe brought a process against his brother John, for destroying a deed executed by their father in Gavin's favour....". Sadly, father's name not mentioned.

Brothers and sisters " ... common to the brothers ... " were mentioned as witnesses - but, again, not named.

The Scots Magazine, Vol 17, 1755 (on line) reported the death of a 90 year John Beugo, of Colwill Linlithgowshire. Have also seen reference to a "John Beugo, Jnr of Colwill"

Thank you for all your interesting replies.

I wonder if they were brothers, it looks more and more likely now...
