Research Help!
« on: Monday 07 December 15 21:41 GMT (UK) »
Hello!

Can anyone help?! I'm looking for the husband of Ivy Lilian Felton and her death.
I only have till tomorrow to find out as im sending off for a family tree book to be made in time for xmas so im pretty desperate!

Ivy was born in Poplar, London 1895 and in 1919 married a Francis J Tucker in Worcester (not sure why in Worcester?) and from what i can see she died in Bristol 1990? Although i have just found a possible death for Ivy in Worcester in 1953?! But i would also like to know when Francis was and where he was born?

Thanks in advance x

You really need a copy of the 1919 marriage certificate, as that would give you the age of the bride and groom.

Ivy's family certainly got about?!

A free 1911 Index has her in Northamptonshire.

There are rather a lot of Francis J Tucker births?
March 1881 Barton Regis (aka Bristol)
March 1881  Bridgwater
March 1881 Plymouth
Dec 1881 Crediton
Dec 1882 Tavistock
Sep 1885 Plymouth
Jun 1887 Swansea
Dec 1887 Exeter
Dec 1895 Barton Regis
Mar 1900 Swansea

And that's just between 1880 and 1900!
You really need that marriage certificate to find his father's name. ;D

Ah dammit!
When i first quickly did it because i saw her death in Bristol 1990 (before i noticed the one in Worcester) and searched deaths for Francis J Tucker and came across a death listed for 1949 putting his d.o.b as 1881 but now ive seen another option for her im stuck!
Looks like ill have to leave it blank in the book!  :-\

Hi have you seen the service record for Francis James Tucker? It has Ivy as his wife but there is a name of Rose Tucker that looks to have been rubbed out i can't make it out fully?

P.S on the record his full given name is Francis James Cooke Tucker
Rogers-Buckinghamshire
Pitwell- Buckinghamshire
Fisher- Middlesbrough
Robinson-Middlesbrough
Foxton - Yorkshire
Carruthers - Scotland
Gibson - Northumberland

Hi
How about this baptism....
Francis James Cook Tucker father James mother Rose
1898 Barton Hill Christchurch Gloucestershire
The service record looks to give Rose as mother next of kin before he married ivy in 1919

I think it reads Fire Picquet Duty

Have a look at these links and see what you think

In military terminology, a picket (archaically, picquet [variant form piquet]) refers to soldiers or troops placed on a line forward of a position to warn against an enemy advance
