Early last year I was sent an old newspaper cutting from a great nephew of Louisa Josephine Pollard nee O'Sullivan..it has no date on it though.  Of course I had no idea back then that these names would be so relevant.

It reads….
Seamus O' Sullivan K.M., 114 O'Connell St. Limerick died aged 83.
The late Mr O'Sullivan was a director of E. D. O'Sullivan & Co. Ltd., shoe specialists for over 20 years.
The deceased was a Captain in the IRA and was in the GPO Garrison during the Rising. He was sentenced to death but this was commuted to terms of imprisonment which he served in English jails.

He was brother-in-law of Irish  patriot Ned Daly and Thomas Clarke who were executed during the rising.
The late Mr O’Sullivan was prominently  associated with the Limerick Knights of Malta for over 20 years.

He was a native or Cork City and served with the L.D.F. during the emergency

He is survived by sons: Mr Edward Daly-O'Sullivan, Mr John Daly-O'Sullivan.
Daughters: Miss Laura O'Sullivan, Mrs Katherine O'Nolan.
Sister Mrs Louisa Pollard,
sister-in-law Mrs Eamon Dore.
Funeral at St. Michael's Church to St Lawrence Cemetery following Requiem Mass.
A Guard of Honor formed by Limerick Knights of Malta.

Louisa Josephine O'Sullivan's Birth Certificate arrived yesterday.  Her mother's maiden name was Margaret Cox.   :)  Louisa's Father John was a Hairdresser back then in 1892.
Their Address 2 Weler Course or Welercourse Road Cork, Co.Cork.
Can anyone confirm the correct name of the road please?

Great that you have the connection now - Link to Marriage record

If that is their marriage..then who was John married to before?  Maybe that's why I can't find any connection of Louisa's other siblings.  :(

I don't think that is their marriage, Margaret states on the 1911 Census they are married 30 years.
As they are both born County Cork, I had a quick look in the Cloyne Diocese but didn't spot them, several parishes don't have any marriages, of course I didn't allow for how long John was dead before the census so another look is needed. Do we know when he died?
As the eldest is 28 in 1911, it can't be too much before 1882/83 but most registers stop 1880, 81 if your lucky, so it maybe a case that RootsIreland is needed to find it, but that is subscription.

I'm now in touch with the grandaughter of Mary aka Molly O'Sullivan, but don't know who she was married to.
She also said that Tiny and Nelly were spinsters,  John was married and lived in Dublin, but she's not in touch with any of the family.

Another contact told me that the mother Margaret wasn't a widow in 1911, she lied on the census.
Her husband had left her, and presumably she felt it was more respectable to say she was a widow. He died in London in 1916.

Someone else also contact me and sent me a photo of Louisa Pollard nee O'Sulllivan! :)

Well done - hope it continues to work out for your research

I also have a lady who was described as a widow in 1916 on her son's army record
Her husband died in 1920! Don't believe they actually separated as addresses remained the same - family lore states she was drawing a widow's pension for a while! ;)
