Ancestors Found Living on Shakespeare Street near Beckett
« on: Monday 14 December 15 20:25 GMT (UK) »
I am researching my Irish ancestors and found that at one time my Great Grandfather and Mother, left Ireland and lived at 13 Shakespeare Street. My G-Grandparents were on the 1921 Irish census, living in Dingle, where my Great Grandfather was pensioned from the Police Force. My Aunt told me the IRA burned them out of their home and they fled north. I know they settled in Belfast in 1927, but found in 1922 and 1923, 2 of their daughters gave the Leeds address on passenger lists when they left England and headed towards the US and Canada. Can anyone advise what resources I could try and use to see if I can find out more information about them when they were living in Leeds such as date of arrival and departure from England etc.? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Their names were James and Rosalie Graham.
