Simon & Eliza Julia (Broughton) DAKIN - Sileby - look up please

I wonder if anyone can help with this one?   I have a George Frederick DAKIN who (from 1861/71/81/91 censuses) reckons he was born in Sileby in about 1828.   I can't find a baptism for him, nor can I track him down on the 1841 or 1851 census.   Someone has suggested that he was the son of Simon Dakin and Eliza Julia Broughton, who married in Sileby in 1825.  I've found Eliza in 1851 living in Wilton St Leicester with 5 children (born after 1837), but no husband (Simon) present.   I'm going round in circles with this one.  Does anyone have any bright ideas?

Oh Suz - thank you so much!!   I was just this minute looking at this Simon Dakin & his wife Eliza Julia (Broughton) who someone suggested might be George's father - and this same Thomas and Mary Broughton are her parents - thus George Frederick Dakin's maternal grandparents!      Many, many thanks for digging these two out!  I'd just ground to a halt with it!! Sincerely appreciate your help

OOo, yes, could well be - there's certainly a son Broughton appearing on the 1851 in Leicester :-

I guess that's possible (also the seemingly confusing entry in the 1841?), though the marriage in 1825 to Eliza Julia Broughton has him as Simon.

I think he was at least known as Samuel
1851 Samuel Dakin is a lodger in Cambridgshire -he is married and occ Cricketer
1861 he is in Cambridgeshire -with wife Eliza J and 3 of their children - Broughton is one of them  Samuel's occupation is Manufacturer of leg guards -and Broughton is a cricketer
1871 Samuel and Eliza are in Cambridge and Samuel's occ is Cricket pad maker

Do you require full details of census??

Also have you seen the image for Eliza Julia's marriage to Mr Dakin ??
