Francis Henry Walker was born 3 Dec 1871 Ballyclouch in Cork Ireland . His parents were Francis Henry Walker 1847-1873 Limerick and Sarah Latham 1845 ( cork) -1930 Limerick .
 I have found his baptism record on line and also find him in 1891 on the English Census in Greenwich living with his Uncle Thomas Latham at 28 Asburnham Rd Greenwich. But after that he disappears . I had expected to find him on other census returns in England . He is not that I can see on the Irish returns nor is  he is  in the Wills of his half siblings who are in Ireland ( his mother remarried). So I am left wondering if he  went abroad . But I have no more information--sorry. Grateful for any help.

Well there is a Francis Walker going to Baltimore in 1893. He is single, birth year of 1872 and a fitter by trade.

Could this be him?  You don't say what his occupation was in 1891.

This Unit comprised a mixture of English & Irish volunteer soldiers

Many thanks to both of you .He was a Brewers Clerk on the Census. His cousin went to South Africa and served in the Boer war  and stayed on afterwards so that's an interesting thought. Plenty to keep me busy. Thanks.

its some time since I posted about Francis Henry  Walker . I know for definite that the record for him in the Boer war is correct  but have no what happened to him next. The medal card does not list him as killed in Action so I am assuming he survived. Grateful for any more information.

It now appears he died in 1938 at Adelaide Hospital in Dublin,Ireland. Single. But had been living in Liverpool.
