Problem with Beckingham, nr Gainsborough...
« on: Saturday 02 January 16 18:12 GMT (UK) »
As it says above, problem with Beckingham....

I have a marriage of two ancestors - John Keyworth and Mary Powell - in Haxey in 1783.

I believe they settled in Beckingham as I have baptisms there 1785 - 1810.

Problem is, I cannot find anyone on the census, including the 1841...

Can anyone assist?

(Also, parentage suggestions of John and Mary welcome.)

Very likely! Interesting says lives Walkeringham as there is a church there...

The Keyworths showing in Walkeringham in 1841 seem a different family to mine, or more distant cousins...

That's great, particularly because it means that John (m. Haxey) is still alive in 1841 and therefore within civil registration.

I know it's the same John Keyworth (with son Thomas in 1841) because the marriage cert of my ancestory Hannah (a daughter of his) states he was a miller – and he is stated to be such in the 1841 census.
