no she had three sons all born here in the usa the oldest was james andrew he lived to be in hes late 70s my grand father patrick joseph called paddy like his grand father we think and the youngest son william called billy and a daughter called anna rita  i was seven when my great grandmother passed away

i think my great grand father died in new york  in about 1925

It should be possible to find the family in a Census, that way we can get her age.

no my great grand father was born in dunegal he had one brother by the name of barney and two and i think two sisters one name katherine and the other annie and he may have had another named mary i know my great grand father youngest sister lived in now york city off flat bush and dean st but i was looking for someone in the cork area that would know the quilligan side

This is why I was trying to get an idea of Andrew's and Catherine's ages.
If they were having children by 1915 you would expect them to be around 20ish, at least so born 1895ish. Than they should appear in the 1901 Census of Ireland but this is the Rafferty's in Donegal in 1901

No Andrew, no Bernard, no Katherine.

They may be older and already in America before 1901.

As there are several Andrew and Catherine Rafferty's in America it will be difficult for anyone to match up with your family without any idea of dates.

Not being sure if Catherine is from Cork or Rathkeale (Limerick) makes it even more difficult, so finding them in America and working back would be easier.
