I am currently researching the ancestry of Allen Kier born abt 1753 i believe in Scoonie. He moved to Edinburgh where he met and later married Mary Tennent july 2nd 1772 at st Cuthberts Edinburgh.
Allen was a baker by trade and later moved to the north east of England ( Jarrow or south shields ) where they had a son Richard Kier born Oct 20th 1796.
If anyone has any information of anykind with regards Allen i would be truly grateful

Hi Richie,
Have you checked out ScotlandsPeople (Pay per view site at http://scotlandspeople.gov.uk)? An Allan Kier was born/baptised at Scoonie on 20/06/1753 - parents: Stephen Kier and Emilia Laing.
