William Murray and Judith Marshall
« on: Tuesday 05 January 16 12:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi!
Can anyone help with the following?

I am trying to find the parents of a William Murray and Judith Marshall who married on 26th June 1832 at Guist, Norfolk and had the following issue:

Anne Murray baptised 31st October 1832, Guist

Elizabeth Murray baptised 21st December 1834, Guist

Frances Murray baptised 14 May 1837, Guist

James Murray baptised 26th June 1839, Guist

John Murray baptised 7th November 1843, Guist

Eliza Murray baptised 24th August 1845, Guist

Mary Maria Murray baptised 14th November 1847, Guist

On the census returns Judith gives her place of birth as Billingsford(?) and William as Guist. Williams date of birth around 1805 - 1809, and Judith around 1808 - 1811.

I believe William may have been born illegitimately to an Elizabeth or Ann Murray, and Judith may have been the daughter of a Thomas and Ann Marshall, but not sure!

Any help greatly appreciated! :)

FreeReg also has a marriage at St Andrew Guist on 18 May 1808 of Thomas Batchelor to Anne Jacob Spinster   - both of the Guist Parish with witnesses John Hall and William Read

William Murray, son of Elizabeth Murray and reputed father William Martin, born 27/4/1807, bp.11/5/1807 Guist

Ann Maria Murray, dau. of Elizabeth Murray and reputed father William Martin, born 16/10/1809, bp.17/12/1809 Guist

Eliza Murray, dau. of Elizabeth Murray bp.24/9/1815 Guist (no reputed father given)

(Viewed original parish pages on familysearch).

William Neale, bachelor, married Elizabeth Murray, spinster, 13/4/1817 Guist and they had children as follows at Guist:

Sophia bp.1/4/1819 )
Susanna   ditto        ) twins
William bp.14/8/1820 (possibly changed to Robert??)
John bp.27/10/1822
Edward bp.11/12/1825
Abraham bp.10/3/1828

Although both living in Guist in 1841 William and Elizabeth not together - he has with him 4 sons and as there is no baptism of a son Robert I think he could be the one baptised as William in 1820.

William Neale bur.3/11/1846 Guist aged 72 (bc.1774)
Elizabeth Neale bur.2/9/1858 Guist aged 75 (bc.1783)

In 1851 son Edward is living with Elizabeth plus 2 grandsons John and Henry Murray who were illeg. sons of her daughter Eliza.
