Hi-

I was wondering if you might have some knowledge of

William Melhuish
BIRTH 10 MAR 1833 • Cheriton Fitzpaine, Devon, England
DEATH 4 JUN 1914 • Devon, England

(Son of William Melhuish, Husband of possibly Anna Maria Partridge)

I know he was a tailor and that his house/business was near the post office. One of his sons, Frederick William (b. 1860) immigrated to the US which is where my direct lineage. I'm attempting to figure out exactly which place he lived as the census records don't give the address.  Also any confirmation of who his wife is or who his parents were (William and Mary).

Any other general knowledge of the Melhuish family would also be appreciated.

Thank you!

Kate

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Birth record -

Frederick William Melhuish
q4 1860, Crediton
Vol 5b Page 387
Mother's maiden name - Partridge

Marriage record -

William Melhuish
q1 1858, S. Molton
Vol 5b Page 681
On the same page is a Maria Partridge.

On the 1871 Maria is recorded as Anna Maria Melhuish

William and Maria's first born (Rosa 1858) also has the MMN as Partridge.
