Please help date this image. Possibly Burns or Parker, Chatham.

Hello,

here is a scan of another of my unidentified pictures. This one is on fairly thick card (about the same as a beer mat). The back is blank.

My guess is that it is a member of the Parker or Burns family who lived in Chatham, Kent.

Most of the other pictures that I have are from 1910 onwards. I would be interested in knowing the date of this one if anyone is able to date it.

Welcome to RC.  You haven't asked for restoration of this photo,  and you may well do your own 'fixing'

. . . . but with such a beautiful scan, it is hard to resist playing with it.   What a lovely portrait!

My hunch is this one is earlier than 1910 - but I am quite prepared to be contradicted.     She reminds me of the clothes my grandmother was wearing in the late 1890s early 1900s.   

And since moving, I still can't find my photo dating books!

I would say late 1800's to early 1900's. Children are difficult to date as they didn't necessarily wear the height of fashion but the doll suggests 1910ish.

Best I could do is Edwardian as children are hard to date... the doll and the clothes could have been passed on. If it had been earlier I would have expected it to be a cabinet card, but it could be an enlargement.

Thank you all for your help. The restorations are great.

I will look through the other pictures that I have to see if they help with identification. 1910 or slightly before would point towards it being Louisa Parker.
