Denbeigh: searching for BRISCOE and GIBSON

Hello, I hope someone can help with the following:

Hedley/Edley BRISCOE was born in 1848 in Cheshire and moved around quite a bit, he was married and lived in Denbeighshire and then his son Joseph moved to St Helens, Lancashire (where most of my research is currently based.  I am looking to find missing census entries for Hedley and his family for 1891, 1871 and for his wife Mary GIBSON in 1861 and 1851.  Hopefully I can then locate her birth and more about her.   

I have the following information:

1901: Hedley was working for his brother Josther??
Pickhill, Bangor, Wrexham, East Denbeighshire,
Parkey farm
Josther? Briscoe, head single, 38 Farmer employer,
Hedley, brother, married, 52, farm baliff

His wife was at:  6 Clayton Square, Tryddyn, Hawarden, Flint
Mary BRISCOE wife, 44, born Ethels bridge
Joseph son 20 coal miner
also, William, 17 b manchester, Thomas b manchester

They may have been in Manchester in 1891 but if someone could check and see if Hedley was working at Parkey farm, that would be great.  I would like to know if his brother was there anyway.

1881:  living at Lavister, Allington, Denbeigh

Children: Mary Ann, 6, b Wrexham, Elizabeth, 4, b wrexham, Hedley 2 b Rossett, Joseph 6mths, b lavister

ANY additional info would be great.  I have tried various free sites and despite Hedley's unsual name I have struggled.  I eventually found his birth, but Mary's is difficult being much more common.

Hedley Briscoe & Mary his wife are to be found in Cheetham, Manchester in 1891.

I was not expecting a look up in Manchester too, this is great. 

I think the Thomas Briscoe in Pickhill is Hedley's father and family and the Thomas age 28 in 1891 is the brother Hedley is working for on the 1901 census where I couldn't read his name.

Hedley Briscoe was my 4th cousin 4 times removed.

In the 1851 Census he was living with his parents at Corner House, Carrington Hill,  Mouldsworth, Cheshire (HO.107/2141, folio 335 & 336.

Thomas Briscoe - Head - Married - 27 - Farmer of 30 acres - born Ince, Cheshire.

Mary A. Briscoe - Wife - Married - 32 - born Weaverham.

Richard Briscoe - Son - 4 - born Tarvin.

Edley Briscoe - Son - 2 - born Tarvin.

Mary A. Briscoe - Dau - 1 - born Tarvin.

Ann Minshull - Servant - 16 - born Frodsham.


I can trace Hedley's ancestry back to his 4 x great grandfather Henry Briscoe (born c. 1640).

Since posting the above I have looked at Parkey Farm, Pickhill, Denbeigh and have found the Briscoe's at each of the census working back from 1881,
1871: RG10/5651/folio 168/ page 2

1861: RG9/4279/folio 40/ page 12

and the 1851 entry as Edgar has shown above.

However I am 'gobsmacked'    that Edgar has got the Briscoe's back to 1640.

Edgar, I have sent you a pm re: the Briscoe's, but as you haven't been on this site for a while, so I am crossing my fingers that you receive it as I would very much like to see your research.  I thought I would post here as well in the hope you do wander back and pick this up.
