I am looking for the birth/baptism of Mary Ann Dyson born 1839-1842 Parkgate Rawmarsh. Also marriage to Joseph Wordsworth after 1861.  Grateful for any help

Have you found them on any census as I'm struggling to find a Joseph Wordsworth marriage in the dates you ask

And is Rawmarsh near Rotherham?

Hi

Rawmarsh came under the Rotherham Registration District at that time but no birth reg on freebmd.  Failure to register a birth only became a fineable offence in 1874/5 so it's not unusual to be unable to find a registration.

Did you check freebmd for the marriage as I can't see an entry?  www.freebmd.org.uk

Did you get her maiden name from one of the children's birth certs?

This looks like Joseph juniors birth middle name Sheldon, is that name significant

These are the two certificates I have. I have the census info for after they married, but could find no sign of Mary Ann on any of the usual sources.

Birth, 14 July 1843, Worsbrough Bridge, County of York., Joseph Wordsworth, son of Sarah formerly Hepworth, and Samuel Wordsworth, lime burner. Informant Samuel Wordsworth, father, Worsbrough Bridge.

Birth, 12 August 1868, Victoria Road, Rawmarsh, District of Kimberworth, Registration District of Rotherham, County of York. Dora Wordsworth, daughter Mary Ann formerly Dyson and Joseph Wordsworth, iron puddler.

If Dora was born 1868 - where is she in 1871?  David is 2yrs old and shown as son - image also says David but no birth in Rotherham showing on freebmd
