Spital Farm Yarm
« on: Monday 25 January 16 14:53 GMT (UK) »
Would it be possible to find a photo of Spital farm Yarm. It stood at the corner of Leven Road and Thirsk Road and is now a housing estate. It was farmed by my mother`s cousins and before that their parents.

I`ve tried google but can`t find anything.

I looked too...I think it was called Spital Flatt Farm, Yarm...

You may be better off contacting the Local History Centre for Yarm....or the library.

Possibly two properties - One called Spital and the other Spital Flat Farm  http://maps.nls.uk/view/101100626#zoom=4&lat=2279&lon=3953&layers=BT

Thankyou both for your replies.

The one I 'm asking about is the Spital , opposite the road junction. I visited a few times when little, but was the estate when I went to Yarm in the 80s.

Thanks for your reply Dawn. That is the one; the entrance to Spitalfields ( opposite Leven Road )is where I believe the entrance to the stackyard was. There was another entrance to the left and the farmhouse was on the left of this.
